Whose initiative is COUNTRYSIDE 2011?
COUNTRYSIDE 2011 comes from the Rural Ways Partnership which is coordinated by the Regional Tourist Board, Tourism South East. It is funded by the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE). The RDPE is funded by Defra and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe investing in rural areas.
What area does COUNTRYSIDE 2011 cover?
The South East England region, which is made up of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, East and West Sussex, and Kent.
Who can contribute to the COUNTRYSIDE 2011 Event Directory?
Everyone who can meet the Criteria for Entry which are listed in the Information for Organisers section.
Does COUNTRYSIDE 2011 run any events itself?
No. The role of COUNTRYSIDE 2011 is to coordinate organisers’ events and activities for the Event Directory, to create and maintain the website and to publicise the campaign.
What is the closing date for the Event Directory?
The Directory goes live in March and will continue to grow. Entries will be accepted until Monday 23rd May 2011.
Will COUNTRYSIDE 2011 events be free?
Many items in the Event Directory will be free, but some will make a charge. There will be plenty of choice for each.
Who can submit news items for the website’s Home Page?
Organisers who have registered an event or activity in the Event Directory.
How can I be kept up to date with the campaign?
Members of the public who submit an email, and organisers who log on, will receive a COUNTRYSIDE 2011 newsletter every month.
Will this be an annual event?
The campaign took place in the South East in 2010 and is happening again in 2011, with a view to going countrywide after this.
