Here’s a taster of what’s already on offer across Surrey…
Go Ape!, Alice Holt, near Farnham – climb a 30ft rope ladder, zip-wire through trees, crawl through tunnels and tackle high-wire rope bridges on this tree-top adventure.
British Wildlife Centre, Newchapel, Lingfield – get close to rarely seen species such as Scottish wildcats, pine martens and otters, as well as badgers in their observation sett, foxes and beautiful birds of prey. ‘Free child’ offer.

Meet the Gatton Park badgers, Reigate – enter the hide tucked deep in the woods and, if you’re quiet enough, see these shy and beautiful creatures enjoying the summer evening.
Nordic Walking, Shalford Park, Guildford – find out how to burn extra calories and use 90% of your muscles while enjoying the outdoors. Free 30-minute taster for Countryside 2011 visitors.
Open Farm Sunday, Shabden Park Farm, Chipstead – meet the animals, go on a tractor ride, visit the Back to Nature Farm Shop, and enjoy some local produce.
Surrey County Show, Stoke Park, Guildford – a fantastic family day out, including a cattle parade, sheep, goat, pig and poultry classes, dog show, horse show and showjumping.
Teddy bears picnic, Box Hill, Dorking – take a walk through the woods to a special picnic spot, with stories, songs and games. Children’s picnic provided, just bring your teddy.
