ARTSPACE, the annual art exhibition at Barn Galleries, shows off an extensive & exciting variety of artists and art forms. Over 80 professional artists will be showing their work in the gardens and the ancient timbered barns. The exhibition portfolio includes sculpture, painting, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, glass, metal work, jewellery & wood. The event is renowned for its wonderful collection of sculpture which is shown in the beautiful grounds of Barn Galleries.
A Secret Postcard Auction is one way that ARTSPACE will celebrate 20 years this May and raise money for charity. ARTSPACE artists from the past 20 years were asked to make an original postcard as a way of commemorating the 20 year anniversary. Visitors will be able to bid for their favourite cards throughout the event but they won’t know for sure which artist made their card or if they are the highest bidder until the end. It could be by a rising star such as James Naughton, a shooting star such as Mark Demsteader (large works by either of these two already sells for several thousand pounds), it could be a celebrity artist such as cartoonist Bernard Cookson or Gray Jolliffe, or it could be a little gem by a new artist. It’s all in a good cause as CLIC Sargent Caring for Children with Cancer is this year’s ARTSPACE charity.
ARTSPACE can be found at Barn Galleries, Aston, Henley RG9 3DX which is AA signed off the A4130.
