Visit Farley Farm House on Sunday June 6th 2011 and take a tour of the home of the Surrealists Lee Miller and Roland Penrose, enjoy the scuplture garden with great views of the South Downs. In Farleys Barn Gallery adjacent to the house is a free exhibition of works by local artists.
Tucked away in the Sussex countryside Farley Farm House conjures up an extraordinary atmosphere that testifies to its position as a meeting place for some of the key personalities in twentieth century art.
In 1949 Surrealists Lee Miller (photographer) and Roland Penrose (artist) moved to Farley Farm House in Sussex. The house soon became the meeting place of some of the key figures of modern art including Picasso, Man Ray, Max Ernst and Joan Miró. Their work is now displayed throughout the house giving visitors a fabulous insight into the lives and art of Miller, Penrose and their friends
