Throughout South East England, there are plenty of friendly groups who welcome beginners, more experienced riders, families – in fact anyone who enjoys a bit of exercise on two wheels.

COUNTRYSIDE 2011 is all about introducing new ways of enjoying the great outdoors. Cycling is one of the most rewarding ways of exploring the countryside, yet many of us can be a little bit timid about taking the plunge.
Once you’ve made the first few tentative turns of your pedals, you’ll quickly appreciate how easy and enjoyable cycling can be. Whether you are new to cycling, or returning to it, you’ll find there are friendly clubs throughout the region who offer a range of “Get on Your Bike” group rides to suit all abilities, from beginners or children as young as five to experienced riders who are keen to get further a-field.
You are welcome to come along on a ride and see how you like it and, if you want to continue, then you would usually be expected to join the club.
Our COUNTRYSIDE 2011 Event Directory featured details of bike rides organised by Cycle Touring Clubs in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Kent, Oxfordshire, North Hampshire, South Hampshire, West Surrey and West Sussex.
Just visit their websites for up-to-date information on their programmes, then go along and enjoy the ride.
