Idyllic England of the 1930s
Posted on 13/01/10

Open now for winter weekends, Pendon Indoor Model Village and Railways, near Abingdon in Oxfordshire, is a rare and special place. In exquisite and colourful miniature, it captures the life and landscape of the Vale of the White Horse as it was around 1930.

Realistic models built to the most exacting standards recreate cottages, farms, fields and lanes in and around the village of Pendon Parva – and the scene is still growing. Model trains are a famous feature of the Vale and other landscapes. Trains in the Dartmoor Scene are fully operational, with a commentary from Museum staff. http://www.pendonmuseum.com/index.jsp
