Do you have a passion for our countryside heritage? Are you looking to gain knowledge and experience in looking after heathland, downland and woodland to use in your future career? Then Surrey County Council’s Countryside Management Heritage Skills trainee placements could be for you.

Hedge Laying at Bonesgate

The Surrey County Council’s Countryside Section is looking for three highly motivated trainees to join the countryside management workforce through on the job training with its three Countryside Projects and additional certified courses. The year-long paid apprenticeship will take place in three different locations of Guildford, Chessington and Caterham; trainees will spend four months in each location, learning to look after heathland, downland and woodland.
