New at Bodiam! The perfect way to relax after the Christmas Festivities with roam and roast days.
Winter Frost at Bodiam Castle
Bodiam Castle’s new roam and roast days are the perfect way to relax on frosty winter days. The event combines a delicious roast with a guided tour of the castle during January and February. The next dates are Sunday 30 January and Sunday 6 February, between 11.30am and 2.30pm.
Guided by a member of ‘The Bodiam Household’ in authentic medieval costume, the one-hour tour will give visitors a fascinating insight into the history behind these romantic ruins and the wider estate. Among the historical features to discover are the ‘murder holes’ and the original wooden portcullis, which is still in place in the gatehouse. From the castle’s battlements and towers, visitors gain an insight into what life was like in the castle, whilst enjoying unrivalled views of the beautiful countryside that surrounds the moated castle. After the tour, visitors can relax in the Terrace Room and enjoy a freshly prepared two-course roast lunch.
With Mothers’ Day coming up in April, why not bring your Mum for a special day out! Medieval Mothers’ Day will take place between 11.30am and 2.30pm on Sunday 3 April. Ticket price £25 to include castle entry, parking and lunch; booking essential.
