The highly successful Bedgebury Cycle Development Project has launched a new female-only cycle fit programme called ‘Women on Wheels’, in partnership with Quench Cycles – the Bedgebury cycle shop.
“These sessions are designed for local women of all ages and abilities who have spare time during the week and are keen to develop their cycling skills and fitness levels.” Ollie Ireland, Bedgebury’s Cycle Coach. “While participants should be able to ride a bike, they don’t need any special skills – as the rides will be non-technical and focussed on basic fitness.”
Sessions start at 10am at Quench Cycles (the Bedgebury bike shop) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. An initial trial session costs £7 and a subsequent block of 10 sessions is £50. This includes bike and helmet hire and a qualified coach for a 1 hour session. Buggies and ‘tag-a-longs’ are available for children.

The aim of the project, which is supported by Frontier Services, Sport England, British Cycling, the Forestry Commission, Kent Sport, Kent Disability Sport, Active Sussex and Quench Cycles, is to increase peoples’ participation in mountain biking.
